Is there someone in your life who has the power to literally shut the mouths of the lions that you face daily, those lions who seek to devour you and leave your carcass in a rotting heap? Do you feel the torment of internal predators growling threats to take you down or maybe it's the ferocious pride, surrounding your daily life, and unrelentingly stalking, waiting to pounce and tear you a part the moment you're most vulnerable?

All of us face these lions, and if we're honest, most often we cower in fear; we sprint for a corner to hide in, a gigantic rock to climb on or just fall limp before our devourer, prey ready to be consumed.

There was a king, of the Medes and Persians who was faced with a vicious pride of lions who sought power and position.  They conspired together, out of shear envy, jealousy and greed, to use the king, unknowingly, to set their trap for a captive from Judah a rising star, who had an "excellent spirit in him."  

The trap was tripped, the king now fully aware was "displeased in himself," for falling to the trickery of of the vicious beasts, he carried out the law, finding no loop hole, except One.  The faithful, old captive from Judah was literally thrown to the ravenous lions, with one hope and prayer from the king, "Daniel, 'Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.'"

Did God deliver Daniel?  Can Daniel's God, will Daniel's God deliver you?  Can you stand against the lions in your life, the ones stalking you from the inside, and those hunting you in your day to day?  Does Daniel's God really have the power to shut the mouths of my lions?
