Mahatma Gandhi, referring to the Christ of Christians makes this very powerful proclaimation, "All the world would be Christian, were not Christians so unlike their Christ." Gandhi, a mere human, like you and I obediently surrendered to the tenents he believed, he practiced what he preached in his non-violent protest against injustice and you know his name because of this.
As followers of Christ, you and I are called to live out what we believe, stating what you believe and giving intellectual consent to what you believe doesn't change the world. It's surrendering to Christ's rule in your life in utter obedience because of God's demonstrated love for you and your absolute trust in Him that we are empowered to practice what we profess, living out the Gospel of Christ in an, world impacting way, through our daily interactions with our neighbors.
It's not the power of your convictions that changes the world it is the power of God at work in you, and oozing out of you that brings new life to a lost and hurting humanity. (Matthew 5:1-16)
